Architect, graduate of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In 1996 he received a certificate from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Head of the KWK Promes office founded in 1999. In 2012 he became an independent expert at the Mies van der Rohe Foundation. In 2016 the National Museum’s Dialogue Centre Przełomy in Szczecin was hailed as the World Building of the Year at the international World Architecture Festival competition. This was the first time this prize had come to Poland. Another great distinction for the designer is the title Best New Private House for Konieczny’s Ark in the global Wallpaper Design Awards 2017.
Konieczny has been nominated twelve times for the Mies van der Rohe Foundation’s European Award. He won the prestigious House of the Year Award 2006 for the Aatrial House design, as victor in the World Architecture News portal’s competition for the world’s best home. Konieczny is one of the most frequently published Polish architects abroad.
